The International conference “Agricultural Knowledge Exchange in Russian Language” will be held from 1st – 2nd June 2010 in Moscow, Russia. The Organising Committee will be pleased to receive papers related to the conference objectives and themes outlined below.

OBJECTIVES

The purpose of this Conference is to provide an international forum for the presentation of the work of Russian-speaking experts and their partners in agricultural education, science and practice, and to discuss developments in agricultural information and knowledge exchange. The Conference will offer a platform for discussion, analysis and review of current status and future actions in these fields. The objective is to achieve a better understanding of global and national constraints, particularly in countries marginalised from the mainstream West European communities. The Conference also aims to encourage and enhance the development of international co-operation in the important field of knowledge dissemination. The Conference will introduce the new international initiative on Coherence in Information for Agricultural Research for Development (CIARD), and promote action to strengthen collaboration among agricultural institutions in Russian-speaking countries towards making research information more publicly accessible.

LOCATION AND DATES

The dates of the Conference will be from 1st to 2nd June 2010. It will be held in Moscow, Russia on the campus of RSAU-MTAA.

PROCEEDINGS

The Proceeding will be published to a high standard in a combined book and CD-ROM. The organisers will endeavour to make these available to delegates at the Conference.

CONFERENCE THEMES

The Conference will include plenary session and 8 round tables. Please, find below the topics of round tables:

VIII. Agricultural Museums

CALL FOR PAPERS

Draft Papers are invited on the topics outlined overleaf and other topics which will fit within the general scope of the Conference. One copy of your Draft Paper should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat as soon as possible but not later than on the 1st June, 2009. Please, identify the subject area of your paper based upon the Conference themes.

EXHIBITION FACILITIES

Mini-exhibition facilities will be available for those firms or organisations wishing to display products, services, hardware, software, and literature related to the theme of the Conference. The space may also be used for standing units. Fill free to contact conference secretariat for detailed information.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The Conference will be held at the building of Central Scientific Library (Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy)

The Conference languages are English and Russian with simultaneous translation facilities.

The fee is 250 US dollars, covering: participation in the Conference, publications, all meals and coffee/tea breaks, but not bed and breakfast.

The second circular will be distributed in April-May 2010 and will contain:

- full details of the Conference Programme;
- registration and abstract submission forms;
- information about choice of accommodation and transportation;
- information about submission of papers;
- information about how to obtain visas to visit Russia;
- choice of excursions.
